Investing millions of dollars in a large marketing effort almost guarantees success (but not always, Pepsi?). It should be noted, though, that not all marketing initiatives and campaigns have to be as expensive as putting a few humans on the International Space Station. Smaller businesses may still accomplish a great deal with low-cost marketing strategies; some are new but have already shown to be effective, while others are tried-and-true.

Content Marketing Combined with Blogging

We won’t even try to explain why your business requires a website. In other words, your business doesn’t exist if it’s not online. But you should take it a step farther and begin writing blogs.

Don’t remark, “But my industry is boring,” before you prove otherwise. No sector is intrinsically dull, and no industrial insight cannot be rendered fascinating or at the very least engaging. A man who owns a local pool company achieved one of the most amazing feats of blogging and content marketing success. His website currently receives more traffic than any other pool-related website worldwide.

People will have an incentive to visit your website because of your blog, and while they’re there, they’ll go through the goods and services your business offers. You can also educate your customers with your blog or establish yourself as a recognized authority in your industry.

Along with increasing your readership through social media sharing, you might even write guest posts for other people’s blogs. In addition to increasing website traffic, this will help your website rank higher in search results.

One of the greatest things about blogging, sharing, and guest blogging is that it just requires a small amount of your time, if any at all.

Make your way into the community press

Contrary to what some “experts” in digital marketing would have you believe, local media is still very much in use and very much alive. This could change in the future, but that will likely take longer than 10 or twenty years.

Local media continues to draw attention and fulfill tasks for tiny businesses.

Unfortunately, even local media might get a little pricey for someone who is truly on a limited budget. Fortunately, purchasing time and space for advertisements is not the only option to break into local—or maybe even national—media.

One thing you should do is keep an eye on local events and phone your local TV station if something happens that affects your industry. Speak with your local newspaper or radio station and provide your professional insight.

Though they actually don’t have to, they will most likely quote you. Once you’ve helped the TV station with a problem that none of the employees understands, they will come to you the next time something similar arises. Before you know it, they consistently highlight you, your company get airtime, and presto!

Put on an event

You’re probably wondering, “Aren’t events super expensive to organize?!” and that this essay has entirely lost its meaning.

If you want them to be, that is. Indeed, it will cost you a little money to serve champagne and have Victoria’s Secret models hang out at your event.

It is not necessary for the event you are planning to be anything like that. It could be a neighborhood get-together in a park for a fast barbecue, a planned movie night, or something similar. You might organize a charity run and distribute bespoke wristbands (maybe with your brand on them) or something like that.

This will increase the visibility of your business not just in the neighborhood but also on social media and possibly in local media. This level of exposure and coverage typically costs thousands of dollars.

It also doesn’t really need to be a big deal. Your event can start with a handful of your friends and family, some volunteers, and a couple of local businesses.

Costly closing word marketing is not always necessary. You have some thoughts about which way to proceed after reading this essay. Business owners can spread the word about their enterprise in different ways. All you have to do is think creatively and thoroughly about your target audience.
