It’s hard to believe, but there are still people who believe (in 2017!) that all they have to do to become famous and rich is start a blog. No idea why, but they think that everyone was waiting for their blog and that they will be greeted like the Second Coming. They won’t believe it when they find out that this isn’t how things work in real life.
Don’t be one of those people.
At first, your blog is just a small part of the internet. You have to earn your friends. They need to come to you.

Not Copy Other People
Your blog needs information if you want people to see it. This is such a simple tip that I chose not to count it as one of my 5. What I need to add is some tips on how to avoid copying other bloggers’ work.
Don’t do it. Don’t do it!
You might think that your chances of success will go up if you do the same things that great bloggers do.
You’re not.
They were happy because they were the first ones to think of something. That person would be impossible for them to copy in the first place.

Join a group
No matter how high you are, even birds in the trees know that you need to be on social media to get known on the web. A social presence needs to be just that: a presence. This is something that many writers don’t get.
Not just going on Facebook and Twitter every time you share something is not enough. Not at all. Being on social media means interacting with other people by commenting on their posts, having talks, making jokes, and even fighting.
You can’t use social media to promote your blog until you have a lot of followers. But you should never ask. People should know that they are grateful for the chance to read and share your pieces.
It never goes the other way.
People will quickly tell their friends about your content when your fans find something that no one else has.
Visual. Visual. Visual
Text is dull. People are sick of texting. It’s likely that text will be mostly a thing of the past, at least on the web, in 20 years.
So, you need to be one of the first people to welcome the new age. Our new era of seeing.
Look at any blog that is popular and really trying new things. What do they have to do? They’re making movies. It’s different from other blogs because they have big picture posts. Do you know why food blogs from Australia are so popular? Because food shooting in Australia is so much better.
See things. Leave texting behind. Visual gets people to like you.

I’m not talking about real, official schooling. That being said, I’m not saying you need a Ph.D. to be a great blogger.
I’m telling you not to be stupid.
You can learn new things about any topic you blog about. You might not think so now, but one day you’ll wish you didn’t talk like a 12-year-old girl who never went outside and saw the world.
Learn a few things about the past of fashion and new designers if you write a blog about it. If your blog is about health, make sure you know what you’re writing.
Don’t not know anything. In the late 1990s, it stopped being cool to be stupid.
